Dedicated to one of my best friends here on DA, She's a big Viggo Mortensen fan, and I really like the movie "Hidalgo", so I thought I'd give it a try. First time ever I made a male portrait. Hope you like it?
A pecildrawing, as usual, but I used a Corel painter magic program to adjust the brightness and the contrast a bit. And I also added the sepia color with it. Figured it would look better on a western drawing. Used a photo for reference I found on a Viggo fan site(there's liturally 1000's of them out there) Tools: pencils 6b,7b,8,b,9b, blending sticks, mec.eraser and cottonballs. Time used, about 18 hours.
wow I love him too isnt that great Jaden does too her and I are good friends as well. Great job sweetie

Thank you so much, jennifer! First time I tried my blending-sticks, but I see now I should have used them a little more, specially on the hat and face. some lines stick out too much compared to the rest.
...Isn't that strange,Brian, few days ago ,I said to myself,"funny ,that you never are drawing "males"(lol)and, there ,you did it!How incredible wonderful, you did this.Amazing.Indeed,it looks like an "old photography"(lol)What realisme! As always ,I am impressed by your great talent. As usual, everthing is "on the top"here, the expression, the look, all those little details...And...man,is he looking cute(lol)Bravo,Brian, and congratulations, what a exquisite gift to your friend!xxx
It actually looked a little different before I scanned it. Sometimes it's like the drawing changes, and get more brighter when I scan it, and I have to use photoshop ore something to make it darker again. And of course some details get lost, and others come out more clearly. Yuk! I think I'll stick to drawing women again, lol! Also the first time I used my blending sticks. Think I need more practice with those. But thank you so much for the nice comment!

As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.
