My second drawing of the beautiful Betcee May. I thought I keep it simple this time, with just some books for background. Did the shading with pencils only, and just the grey areas around her and the books took me over ten hours!!! (I guess you don't belive me...)Maybe I'm doing something wrong? (if anyone got a tip on how to do it quicker, I'm all ears!) Photo for reference is by the very nice and talented David L. Le Beck, and can be found here, [link] Tools: Pencils H,HB,2B,5B,6B,9B,mechanical pencil, mechanical eraser Time used, about 20 hours (and I enjoyed every minute of it)
edit: I got some pointer from David here the other day that maybe the books was kind of standing out to clearly compared to Betcee, who's in center of the drawing. After having a look with "new" eyes, I thought he was absolutely correct. So I tried to "unsharpen" them bit here. When I compare the new version to the old, it's works better. Maybe still not good, but better.
I know, but I had a great photo for reference in David L. Le Beck's gallery! Without him this would never been! But I'm glad you liked it! Really made my day!!Thank's so much!!!!
